The goal of this camp is to teach young athletes the sport of volleyball and have fun doing it! The UAB camp staff will offer instruction and training to beginners and experienced athletes in the areas of passing, setting, hitting, serving, and defense. Lunch is provided to all campers and is included in camp cost. To secure your place in this camp a $75.00 nonrefundable deposit is due by June 1, 2007. First 20 campers to register will receive a free addidas UAB sackpack!!!

This three day camp is designed to develop or enhance the all-around game of each individual. UAB camp staff members will offer instruction on the fundamental skills of volleyball as well as "position specific" skills. Campers will have the opportunity to learn these skills in an individual and game-like environment and will be divided by age, skill level, and position in order to provide the appropriate learning environment. 3 meals a day will be provided to all campers (commuting campers will not receive breakfast) and is included in camp cost. To secure your place in this camp a $100.00 nonrefundable deposit is due by July 1, 2007. First 20 campers to register will receive a free addidas UAB sackpack!!!
*Check in for this camp is July 12th at 8:00am. Camp will run from 9:00am-9:00pm each day, with breaks for lunch and dinner. Camp will conclude on July 14th with check-out at 5:00 pm.

If you need extra training in a specific position or for a new role on your team; this is the camp for you! Focusing on hitters, setters, and liberos, you can choose the position that you would like to concentrate on and work with camp instructors who have extensive training and knowledge in that area. Lunch is provided to all campers and is included in camp cost. First 20 campers to register will receive a free Adidas UAB sackpack!!!

Additional Information
Accommodations
All Resident Campers will be accommodated ON CAMPUS using UAB dormitory facilities. Campers can make roommate requests which will be granted whenever possible. Dorms are within a two block walk to Bartow Arena. Day camps are commuter only.
Training/Medical Staff
A certified athletic trainer is on site at all times during the camp to attend to any and all medical needs.
Location/Facility
Camps are held on the UAB Campus. All sessions are conducted in UAB Facilities within walking distance of dormitories.
**Transportation to or from the Birmingham Airport included in camp cost.
Equipment
Campers should bring T-shirts, shorts, volleyball shoes, socks, kneepads, and a water bottle. Overnight campers should also bring bedding, towels, toiletries, and an alarm clock.
Kerry Messersmith enters her second season as head coach of UAB and has already made a tremendous impact on the Blazer volleyball program. In just her first season at the helm, Messersmith led the Blazers to a 27-10 overall record and the program's first ever Conference USA Championship. During Messersmith's 19-year career, she has accumulated a 501-262 record, which includes eight conference championships, three NCAA Tournament appearances and one NJCAA National Championship appearance. During that span, Messersmith has coached numerous All-Conference selections, three junior college All-America selections and two NCAA All-American's.
