IRVING, Texas --- UAB has had 20 student-athletes earn the 2004-05 Conference USA Commissioner's Academic Medal, league commissioner Britton Banowsky announced Thursday. A total of 343 conference student-athletes received the award. UAB had 19 student-athletes receive the recognition during the 2003-04 academic year.

The medals are given to C-USA student-athletes with a cumulative GPA of 3.75 or above during the academic year.
