Matt Wildt Named Associate AD For Ticket Operations & Football Administration At UAB
Aug. 8, 2005 BIRMINGHAM, Ala. ----- Matt Wildt, who has spent the past eight years at the University of Wyoming -- most recently serving as Assistant Athletics Director for Ticket Operations and Special Events -- has been named Associate Athletics Director for Ticket Operations and Football Administration at UAB, according to an announcement by Blazers' Director of Athletics Watson Brown. Wildt will begin his new duties at UAB later this week as he will oversee the school's ticket office as well as working in many administrative aspects of the Blazer football program. He joined the Wyoming ticket office staff as assistant manager in August 1997 and became ticket manager just three months later. In December of 2002, he was elevated to Assistant AD in charge of special events, while continuing to oversee the UW ticket office operation. "We're excited to have someone of Matt's experience who has overseen ticket operations at the I-A level," said UAB Senior Associate AD Lee Moon. "His experience will be a great asset for us in our ticket office. His background in working with various aspects of athletics administration lends itself well to his duties with our football operation." A native of Parkersburg, W. Va., Wildt earned his Bachelor's degree in sports management and marketing from Marshall University in 1994. He earned his Master's degree in sports administration and management from Marshall in 1996. Before going to Wyoming, Wildt worked in the athletics department at Marshall for three years, serving as administrative assistant to the Director of Athletics and interim ticket manager during that time. "I'm thrilled and excited to be joining the UAB athletic department," said Wildt. "I'm fortunate to have had the opportunity to work at the University of Wyoming for eight wonderful years. I gained very valuable experience in many areas of athletic administration that will be beneficial in my new position in Birmingham. "I'm looking forward to bringing some of my ticketing expertise to serve the Blazer fans in a first-class fashion. I'm also very excited to be working with Coach Watson Brown and the UAB football program. I can't thank Lee Moon and UAB enough for this great opportunity." Wildt is married to the former Pam Davis, who has been the head women's tennis coach at Wyoming. They have one daughter, Paige. |
