Statement from UAB President Carol Garrison regarding resignation of head football coach Watson Brown

Coach Watson Brown has resigned as head football coach at UAB. I, and the entire UAB community, appreciate his hard work and efforts in establishing our program in Division I football.

I have asked Interim Athletics Director Richard Margison, with support from Senior Associate Athletics Directors Brian Mackin and Lee Moon, to begin immediately a national search for a new head football coach. Their experience working together in filling openings, specifically the men's basketball and baseball positions, demonstrate that this search will be thorough, discreet and successful in finding the right person for our university.
