Sidney Ball is in his fifth year working in the academic advising department of UAB athletics, with his main responsibilities including tracking the academic progress of the Blazers' women's basketball, volleyball, cross country and track & field teams. He also assists with the CHAMPS/Life Skills program. Ball is a former UAB student-athlete, lettering four seasons on the Blazers' men's basketball team. During his tenure at UAB, he was a two-time team captain and a valuable asset to the program, both on and off the court. During Ball's senior year, he ehlped the Blazers to a 22-10 record, including a 12-4 mark in Conference USA and a share of the regular season crown, as well as an appearance int he NCAA Tournament Sweet 16. Hailing from Duncanville, Ala., Ball earned his bachelor's degree in justice science from UAB in 2004. He is currently an active member of the National Association of Academic Advisors for Athletics (N4A). |
