Chad Jackson enters his ninth year as a staff member in the UAB Athletics Department. He is in his third year as Associate Athletics Director for Compliance. He began work in 1999 as a marketing assistant in the Blazers' initial year of competition for all sports in Conference USA and has served in several areas during his time at UAB including promotions, event management, and football team travel. Jackson's primary responsibilities involve managing the overall athletics compliance program by ensuring the Blazers meet all UAB, Conference USA, and NCAA legislation. A member of the National Association of Athletics Compliance Coordinators (NAACC), Jackson also represents UAB on the Alabama Athlete Agent's Commission and subcommittee. In addition to his compliance duties, he maintains the day-to-day relationship with UAB's official apparel and footwear company. Prior to joining the Blazers, Jackson worked for two minor league baseball teams. He first worked for the Cleveland Indians Single-A Affiliate, the Columbus RedStixx of Columbus, Ga., in several areas in the front office from managing game-day operations to helping coordinate the marketing plan for the organization. He has also served as an official scorer for the local Birmingham Barons AA Affiliate of the Chicago White Sox. PERSONAL: A native of Opelika, Ala., and graduate of Auburn University, Jackson serves in a support role for the Fellowship of Christian Athletes Chapter at UAB. He married the former Michele Kennedy of Opelika, Ala., in January 2006. |
