Kelly Melton joined the UAB program as an assistant athletic trainer in August of 2007. Melton came to UAB from Millasps College where she spent four years in the athletic training department. While there, Melton had a hand in helping each of the school's 14 sports, working mainly with men's and women's soccer and softball. Melton obtained her master's degree from Georgia State, and she worked as a graduate assistant at Emory University. During her two seasons at Emory, Melton worked primarily with men's and women's basketball, men's and women's soccer, swimming and diving, and softball. The Louisville, KY, native is a 2001 graduate of the University of Louisville, earning her degree in physical education with a concentration in exercise science, while also receiving a minor in sports administration. She spent four years as a student athletic trainer at Louisville. Melton is a member of the National Athletic Trainers' Association and College Athletic Trainers' Society. |
