Colin Myers is in his second year as the UAB baseball program's athletic trainer. Myers joined the Blazers' staff after serving as an athletic training student at West Virginia University where he worked with the Mountaineers' baseball, football, wrestling, track and tennis teams.

His duties at UAB inlude prevention, treatment, rehabilitation and diagnosis of athletic injuries. Myers also coordinates outside physician referrals and oversees the overall implementation of all aspects of daily medical care. He also assists with football at UAB.

In 2005, Myers completed a summer internship with the National Football League's Houston Texans, where he assisted and observed the team's medical staff in the prevention, treatment and rehabilitation of athletic injuries.

He is a certified member of the National Athletic Trainers' Association and is licensed by the Alabama Athletic Trainers' Association. In addition, Myers holds an American Red Cross Professional Rescuer certification as well as an American Heart Association BLS/AED/CPR certification.

Myers, who earned his B.S. in physical eduation with emphasis in athletic training from West Virginia in 2006, is working towards his master's in health education at UAB.

PERSONAL: Myers' hometown is Fort Ashby, W.Va., and he enjoys golf and traveling.
