Colin Waters is in his first year as a member of the UAB Media Relations Department. He serves as the primary contact for cross country as well as track and field, rifle and softball, while assisting other university sports. Prior to joining the UAB staff, Waters worked as the Sports Information Director for Baker University in Baldwin City, Kan. He was responsible for coverage of the university's 17 sports, while continuing his pursuit of a B.S. in communications with an emphasis in broadcasting, which he obtained from Baker in May 2007. While at Baker, Waters held many roles in the student media. Most recently, he served as sports editor of the Baker Orange, a member of the Associated Collegiate Press (ACP) Hall of Fame and a 2004 ACP Pacemaker Award winner. As sports editor, Waters received several individual awards, including the 2006 Kansas Associated Collegiate Press First Place award for series writing in sports. He also served for two years as the sports director of KNBU-FM. |
