Rossy Renna is in her seventh season as an assistant coach for the Blazers. In her first four years at UAB, Renna has helped the Blazers to four top-five finishes at the U.S. National Championships and consecutive third-place showings (2004-05) at the U.S. Collegiate Synchronized Swimming Championships, in addition to back-to-back fourth place finishes in 2006 and 2007. A standout synchronized swimmer for the Blazers during the 2000-01 season, Renna was part of six first-place trio finishes and three first-place duet finishes for UAB during the 2000-01 season. After completing her synchronized swimming career at UAB, Renna served as a CHAMPS/Life Skills student assistant in the UAB Athletic Academic Center. She was also the synchronized swimming team manager for the Blazers during the 2001-02 season. Renna, a native of Sofia, Bulgaria, was a member of the Bulgarian National Team from 1992-95. She has helped coach several synchronized swimming club teams over the years, including the Orlando Loreleis, the Birmingham Aqua Bears and the Nashville Starfish. Renna graduated from UAB with a bachelor's degree in communications management and a minor in coaching in December 2002. She also received her master's degree in communications management in December of 2004. She is married to Jordan Renna and together they have a daughter; Iris (3) and a son; Christian, who was born in September. |
