UAB Tops Keuka In Duel Meet

KEUKA PARK, N.Y.... The UAB synchronized swimming team defeated Keuka with of total score of 108.0 to Keuka's 98.5 in a duel meet in Keuka Park, N.Y. The Blazers took first place in five events.

In the senior figures, Rossitza Loukanova took first (79.586), Bogdana Zareva was second (79.091) and Jessica Brown finished third (77.651).

The junior figures saw Sarah Pikal take first (75.567) and Hannah Freer place fourth (73.869).

Loukanova, Luna Aguilu and Moraine Ruddick placed first in the trio routines (85.800) and Kelli Dickerson, Kristen Kramer and Stacy Leiker took second for the Blazers (85.467).

In the duet routines, Brown and Zareva were first (87.000) and Aguilu and Loukanova took second (84.400).

The Blazers placed first in the team routines with a score of 86.200.

"We are very excited to have won this duel meet," said Head Coach Amy O'Donnell. "This was an excellent meet for us. I saw a lot of improvement. This was a good win and a good predictor for the Collegiate South Regionals and the Collegiate Nationals."

The Blazers return home to Bell Aquatics Center Feb. 24 to take on Florida and Richmond at 3 p.m. Admission to the meet is free.
