LONG ISLAND, N.Y. --- UAB's synchronized swimming team finished the prelims in fourth place at the U.S. National Synchronized Swimming Championships here Friday. The Blazers advance to the finals in the team competition.

The team of Luna Aguilu, Kelli Dickerson, Amanda Haeuser, Stephanie Jackson, Stacey Jackson, Kara Morgan, Bogdana Zareva and Stacy Leiker finished the preliminary competition with a score of 91.667. The Blazers finished this round in fourth place behind the Santa Clara Aquamaids (96.500), Ohio State University (94.833) and the Walnut Creek Aquanuts (94.000).

Competition will conclude Saturday with the final rounds of competition.

The U.S. Nationals represent the top synchronized swimming teams from all levels of competition.
