UAB's Synchronized Swimming Team Finishes Fourth at U.S. Nationals

LONG ISLAND, N.Y. --- The UAB synchronized swimming team finished competition at the U.S. National Synchronized Swimming Competition here Saturday. The Blazers finished in fourth place overall in the team competition.

The team of Luna Aguilu, Kelli Dickerson, Amanda Haeuser, Stephanie Jackson, Stacey Jackson, Kara Morgan Bogdana Zareva and Stacy Leiker finished the competition scoring 91.501 overall.

The Santa Clara Aquamaids took first place with a score of 96.334. The Aquamaids also captured the top spot in solo and duet competition. The Walnut Creek Aquanuts took second (95.167) in the team competition, followed by the Ohio State University team in third with a score of 94.500.

This marks the third consecutive time for UAB to appear in the team final competition. UAB grabbed an eighth place finish in 2002 and 2001.
