Ten Blazers Receive Synchronized Swimming All-America Honors

BIRMINGHAM, Ala.-- Ten members of the UAB synchronized swimming team have been honored by the U.S. Synchronized Swimming Collegiate Coaches Committee. Six Blazers received Academic All-America honors and four more were named All-America or Honorary All-America. Athletes must earn at least a 3.25 grade point average to receive the All-Academic award.

Andrea Dash, Vanessa Dash, Frances Halloran, Stephanie Jackson, Stacey Jackson and Sara Petrov represented UAB on the Collegiate Coaches Committee's Academic-All America list in 2005.

Stephanie and Stacey Jackson were also named All-Americans after the U.S. Synchronized Swimming Collegiate Nationals held March 24-26 in Gainesville, Fla. Sara Petrov and Morgan Clarke received Honorary All-America recognition at the meet as well.

UAB placed fourth at the Collegiate Nationals and will next compete at the U.S. Nationals on April 28-30 in Federal Way, Washington.
