Synchronized Swimming Advances Four Swimmers To Finals Of National Team Trials

Jessica Brown, Amanda Haeuser, Stacy Leiker and Kara Morgan of the UAB synchronized swimming team each advanced to the 2002 Senior Team Trials being held May 3-5 in Columbus, Ohio at Ohio State University's Peppe Aquatic Center.

Team USA will select 30 athletes to the 2002 U.S. Junior and Senior National Teams. Sixty-four athletes have earned the opportunity to compete for a slot on the 2002 U.S. National Teams. More than 600 swimmers began the four-phase Trials process more than a year ago. The National Team Trials concludes at noon, Sunday, May 5 with the official announcement of the three teams.

The top 10 eligible athletes will represent the United States at the 2002 World Cup, Sept. 12-15 in Zurich, Switzerland. Team II will swim at the 27th annual Swiss Open, July 11-14 in Basel, Switzerland. The 2002 U.S. Junior National Team will compete at the 2002 Junior World Championships, Aug. 15-19 in Montreal, Canada.
