Jennifer Robeson is in her second season as assistant track and field coach at UAB. She oversees the hurdlers, high jumpers and the multi-event athletes in addition to day-to-day recruiting activities. In just one season with the Blazers, her coaching has had a huge impact in a number of athletes putting up career bests and having all-conference and regional qualifiers. Robeson received her Bachelor of Arts in Exercise and Sports Studies at the University of Texas at Arlington in 1997. She then received her Master of Science in Kinesiology in 2001 at Texas Woman's University in Denton, Texas. While at UT-Arlington, Robeson was an outstanding athlete and a four-year letterwinner. She captured four individual Southland Conference titles and was also a part of four team conference titles. She is a former Southland Conference record holder in the indoor and outdoor high jump and is the current record holder for the indoor and outdoor high jump at UT-Arlington, leaping 5-11 1/4. Robeson won the Southland Conference Championship in 1994 in the heptathlon. As a freshman in 1994, Robeson was named the Field Event Performer of the Year. Throughout her four years in college, Robeson was named all-conference nine times. She won the indoor and outdoor conference championship in the high jump in 1996, and was also the outdoor champion 1997. A native of Corinth, Texas,she attended Lake Dallas High School where she was a two-time state finalist in the 100-meter hurdles and high jump. She led all Texas 3A athletes in the high jump at 5-7. She was all-district four times in volleyball and three times in basketball. Robeson is the daughter of Sherry Robeson. |
