CHAPEL HILL, N.C. - Junior Karen Werner ran a time of 2:23.60 to finish 26th in the 800-meter run at the Blue Heaven Track and Field Rumble hosted by North Carolina Saturday afternoon. This was UAB's second meet of the season after competing in the Terrapin Invite on Jan. 5.

Competing in their only events of the meet, junior Donna Pucke placed 35th in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:25.80 and senior Carla Kelly finished 47th with a 2:27.75 mark.

In the 60-meter dash, freshman Theresa Smith finished with a time of 8.00, while freshman Crystal Hunter ran a time of 8:18.

Freshman Normanie McKenzie placed 38th in the 400-meter dash with a time of 59.83, while Judy Shepherd finished with a 1:01.63.

In the 3000-meter run, freshman Heather Burdett ran a time of 11:17.64, finishing in 36th place.

THe Blazers will compete again next weekend as they travel to Bloomington, Ind. to compete in the Indiana Invite.
