The UAB track and field team competed in its second meet of the season at the non-scoring Purple Tiger Invitational hosted by LSU.

Senior Yolanda Cooper placed in three events with her best finish coming in the long jump. Cooper finished fourth with a distance of 18'01.00 (5.51m). In the 60-meter dash, she finished sixth with a time of 7.61. In the 200-meter dash, Cooper ran a 27.10 finishing 29th.

The Blazers also had a fifth place finish from Donna Pucke in the 400-meter dash. Pucke finished the event with a time of 1:00.77.

In the 800-meters, junior Carla Kelly finished ninth with a time of 2:22.47. Freshman Andrea Burdett finished 13th with a time of 2:24.73

The Blazers will compete again in Feb. 2-3 at the Indiana Invitational in Indianapolis, Ind.
