The UAB women's track and field team continued its 2001 indoor season as they competed in the Cannon IV Classic at Butler University. This meet did not tally team scores.

Senior Yolanda Cooper ran a 7.57 (7.56 in preliminaries) in the 60-meter dash to finish fourth amongst collegiate competitors. Cooper's 7.56 run tied her first place mark in the Conference USA women's indoor rankings. She also finished 12th amongst collegiate competitors in the 200-meter dash.

Sophomore Dina Katsoulis threw a 10.66-meter (34'11.75) final mark in the shot put to finish 17th.

Sophomore Donna Pucke finished 19th amongst collegiate competitors in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:17.11.

In the 4x400-meter relay, UAB finished 13th with a time of 4:05.99.

The Blazers will be in action again on Feb. 17 as they travel to West Lafayette, Ind. to compete in the Purdue 5-way.
