TUSCALOOSA, Ala. ----- The UAB track and field team had seven top-10 finishes in the third day of competition at the Alabama Relays here on Saturday, including an impressive three top-10 finishes in the 100-meters.

UAB's Oriana Carter, Crystal Hunter and Stephanie McCauley all finished in the top-10 in the 100-meters. Carter placed fifth overall with a time of 11.92. Hunter finished in seventh-place with a time of 11.95, while McCauley completed the race in 11.97 and placed eighth overall.

Theresa Smith recorded UAB's best finish of the afternoon, as she placed fourth overall in the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 14.06. LaDedria Taylor finished the event in 24th-place with a time of 15.33.

In the 400-meter hurdles, Amanda Hart finished in sixth with a time of 1:03.64. Taylor placed 21st overall with a time of 1:08.82, while Mary Kim Webb finished the event in 1:12.33, good enough for 28th.

Genoah Collins was UAB's best finisher in the 800-meters, placing sixth overall with a time of 2:13.78. Adie Sander completed the event in 2:28.19, good enough for 37th.

Erin Harris placed in 10th in the long jump with a jump of 18-08.50, while Stephanie McCauley was 32nd with a jump of 15-02.

Emry McKay recorded a time of 4:46.74 in the 1500-meters, finishing in 11th, while Adel Anderson placed 40th overall with a time of 5:21.59.

 

 

In the 5000-meter run, Ryanne Fortney placed 13th for the Blazers, running an 18:50.67, while Tori Stanfield completed the event in 20:55.43, finishing in 32nd.

In the 400-meters, Normanie McKenzie placed 14th with a time of 59.06 and Adrienne Duke finished in 24th after recording a time of 1:00.50.

In addition, the Blazers had three finishers in the 200-meters. Elace Minnifield finished in 43rd with a time of 25.55, Shauntae Lockett was 45th with a time of 25.66 and Candace Raye placed 68th after completing the event in 27.92.

Relay teams will be the focus in the final day of competition at the Alabama Relays on Sunday.
