UAB Completes Competition at Florida Relays

GAINESVILLE, Fla. --- UAB's track and field team finished competition at the Florida Relays Saturday, with several record finishes. "We had a great day today," said head coach Ray Stanfield. "We really rose to the level of competition." UAB's relay team of Judy Shepherd, Olivia Ross-Hurst, Adrienne Duke and Theresa Smith finished the 4X100 shuttle hurdles with a time of 1:00.64, a new school record. UAB's team of Duke, Normanie McKenzie, Doella Miller, and Elace Minnifield finished the 4X400 meter relay in a time of 3:47.32, second fastest in school history. In the women's 4X100 meter relay, UAB's team of Crystal Hunter, Miller, Minnifield, and Theresa Smith finished with a time of 46.72, fifth fastest in UAB history. UAB's team, Minnifield, Amanda Kara, Duke, and Donna Pucke, finished 10th in the women's distance medley with a time of 12:34.48. "It was a good meet against good competition," said Stanfield.
Next up for the Blazers will be the Sea Rays Invitational hosted by the University of Tennessee, April 12.
