LOUISVILLE, Ky. - Head Coach Brian Funk's freshman pulled through again at the Conference USA Outdoor Championship Saturday afternoon.

UAB's 4x400-meter relay team, comprised of three freshman, smashed a 15-year school record, bettering the time by three seconds. Blazer freshmen Normanie McKenzie, Elace Minnifield and Adrienne Duke, along with junior Doella Miller posted a time of 3:47.17 to knock off the 1987 record of 3:50.23. The Blazers finished sixth overall in the event.

In the 400-meter dash, Minnifield and McKenzie, who qualified in Friday's heats, made up the only two freshman in the field. The duo finished seventh and eighth with times of 56.56 and 56.70, respectively.

Houston captured the women's title with 144 points, while Marquette took second with 119 points.
