MARYVILLE, Tenn. ----- The UAB cross country team finished up their season here Saturday at the NCAA Regional Meet. The team placed 16th in the 6K race.

Junior Amanda Kara led the team with a time of 24:09.29 in 59th place. Kara has led the team throughout the season and will be a factor in the distance races during the track season.

Other finishers were Emily Scarbrough (104th, 26:18.30), Rina Kara (111th, 26:53.69), Heather Burdett (112th, 26:62.56) and Donna Pucke (115th, 28:51.23).

Vicky Gill of Florida State was the top finisher in the meet with a time of 21:03.87. Tennessee won the meet with a total score of 72.

This concludes the cross country season. The indoor track season begins in January.
