BIRMINGHAM, Ala. --- The UAB track and field team heads to Houston this weekend to participate in the Conference USA Championships.

The meet will be held Friday, Feb.28 and Saturday, March 1 at the Yeoman Field House inside the Athletics/Alumni Center.

UAB looks to have another outstanding performance this weekend, following it's second place finish at the Southeast Missouri State indoor meet last weekend. At the SEMO meet the Blazers were led by several impressive performances.

Sophomore Theresa Smith finished the meet with a first place effort in the 55-meter hurdles (8.00), along with teammate Amanda Kara taking first in the mile run (5:18.0) and Doella Miller tying for first in the 300-meters (42.2).
