BIRMINGHAM, Ala. --- The UAB track and field team heads to Oxford, Miss. to participate in the Mississippi Invitational this Saturday, hosted by Ole Miss. The Blazers will face the Rebels, Conference USA foe Memphis, along with Arkansas-Little Rock, in this one day event.

The Blazers are coming off a third place finish at the Jace Lacoste Invitational last weekend, hosted by Mississippi State. UAB was lead by sophomore Judy Shepherd who finished first in the women's triple jump with a leap of 36-7. She took second place in both the women's 100-meter (15.06) and 400-meter hurdles (1:11.26). Shepherd tied for fifth in the women's high jump with a leap of 4-11, along with a fifth place finish in the women's long jump (16-7).
