BIRMINGHAM, Ala. ----- The Blazers end the regular season this weekend when they travel to Louisville, Ky., for the 2004 Conference USA Outdoor Track and Field Championships. UAB finished 13th overall in the 2003 championships.

Battling through rain-soaked conditions, the UAB track team performed well at the Ole Miss Open on May 1. The majority of the field events were cancelled due to the weather, along with the sprint hurdles. Leading the way for the Lady Blazers on the afternoon was Stephanie McCauley and Normanie McKenzie who each won their flights in their respective events. McCauley also had the third-best time overall in the 200 meters. Emry McKay also performed well, finishing second overall in the 1,500 meters. The UAB 4x100-meter relay team finished third overall.
