BIRMINGHAM, Ala. --- UAB's cross country team will participate in three meets in the state of Alabama during the fall 2003 season, announced Friday by head coach Ray Stanfield.

The Blazers are scheduled to participate in the Crimson Classic (Sept. 19), hosted by the University of Alabama and the Auburn Invitational (Oct. 11), hosted by Auburn University. UAB will also run in the UAH Invitational, hosted by the University of Alabama at Huntsville on Sept. 13.

The cross country team will open the season at the Belmont Opener in Nashville, Tenn. on September 5, followed by the UAH Invitational and the Crimson Classic. The Blazers will venture to the Notre Dame Invite in South Bend, Ind., on Oct. 3. and will compete in their last in-state meet at the Auburn Invitational. To conclude its competition in October, UAB will journey to Fayetteville, Ark. for the Chile Pepper Invitational on Oct. 19.

The Conference USA Championships are scheduled for Nov. 1, in Tampa, Fla. and will be followed by the South Region Championships on Nov. 15, in Auburn, Ala. For those who qualify, the NCAA Championships will be held at Cedar Falls, Iowa, on Nov. 24.
