UAB's Track and Field Team Adds Three to Recruiting Class
June 10, 2003 BIRMINGHAM, Ala. --- UAB's track and field team added three prospects to its 2003-04 roster Tuesday, as announced by head coach Ray Stanfield. All three signees are Alabama natives, including two from the same high school. Shauntae Lockett, from Athens (Ala.) High School, is a three-time state champion in the 100 and 200-meter dashes. She was also a member of the state championship basketball team for the last two years. LaDedria Taylor from Central Tuscaloosa (Ala.) High School, is ranked in the top 15 all-time for the 100 and 300-meter hurdles in Alabama high school history. Taylor was also a member of the indoor and outdoor state championship teams for the last two years.
Teammate Erin Harris was runner-up at the indoor state meet in the long jump and was also a member of the state championship team at Central Tuscaloosa High School the last two years.
