BIRMINGHAM, Ala. ----- Head coach Ray Stanfield announced Tuesday the signing of Emry McKay, a distance runner from Bob Jones High School in Huntsville, Ala.

McKay was the winner of the UAH Invitational this year, and she has been a Metro Champion three times. She led her team to the 2002 Cross Country State Championship and she was sixth at the prestigious Jesse Owens Classic. She was runner-up at the State Cross Country meet her sophomore year. Her personal best time in the 5K is 19:01.

"Emry is a great sign for our program," said Stanfield. "She brings unparalleled maturity and a ton of talent in the distance events. She has all the tools to be a tremendous collegiate runner. I am thrilled to get her in the early signing period."
