BIRMINGHAM - The UAB Blazer baseball team will open its 2001 season Monday, hosting Alabama State at Young Memorial Field at 3:00 pm. Larry Giangrosso begins his second season as head coach of his alma mater. UAB finished 28-32 overall in 2000, 10-15 in Conference USA play.
