BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - Tyler Marsh, a sophomore guard on the UAB men's basketball team, has been named this week's UAB Scholar-Athlete of the Week. Marsh has excelled in the classroom, while also contributing on the hardwood for the Blazers. He has played in seven games this season and scored his first career points against Alabama State on Jan. 2.

Against Alabama A&M earlier this season, Marsh came off the bench and played a career-high 19 minutes, recording both a steal and an assists.

The Miami, Fla. native played in four games during his freshman campaign in 2006-07.

Marsh is a communication management major at UAB.
