UAB Plays In Final Game Of Day Friday In Columbus

Blazers face Washington in NCAA first round contest at approximately 9:40 p.m. EST

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. ----- The UAB basketball team will play the final game of the day at the Columbus, Ohio Regional Friday, March 19 when it opens NCAA Tournament play against Washington.

The No. 9-seeded Blazers (20-9) and the No. 8-seeded Huskies (19-11) will tip off in Nationwide Arena at approximately 9:40 p.m. EST, or 30 minutes following the first round contest between No. 1 seed Kentucky and either Lehigh or Florida A&M.

The afternoon session in Columbus features first round matchups between Illinois and Murray State, 12:25 p.m. EST; and Cincinnati going against East Tennessee State, 30 minutes following Illinois-Murray State game.

The second round games set for Sunday, March 21 are set for 2:30 p.m. EST with the second contest starting 30 minutes following the conclusion of the first game.
