Men's Basketball Finalizes Schedule With Eight Television Dates In 2008-09

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - UAB has released its television schedule for the 2008-09 season, which was announced by Conference USA officials on Thursday. In all, the Blazers will have eight games televised this season, with the possibility of more games being added at a later time. The Blazers will play three contests on the ESPN networks, beginning with an appearance on ESPN2 on Tuesday, Nov. 18, in the second round of the 2008 NIT Season Tip Off. UAB will also play Louisville on ESPN2 on Saturday, Dec. 27, at 3 p.m. CT. Finally, the Memphis at UAB game will be televised by either ESPN or ESPN2 on Thursday, Feb. 26, at 8 p.m. CT. Other national television appearances include two showings on the CBS College Sports Network. The Blazers' game at Memphis will be televised on the network on Saturday, Jan. 17, at 7 p.m. CT, while UAB's home contest against Southern Miss on Saturday, Feb. 21, at 1 p.m. will also air on the station. CSS will carry at least three games on the year, beginning with a home contest against UCF on Tuesday, Jan. 13 at 7 p.m. CT. Road games at Marshall (Jan. 31 at 6 p.m. CT) and Southern Miss (Feb. 7 at 5 p.m. CT) will also be aired by the regional network. The Blazers will open the 2008-09 campaign when they travel to play in-state foe Troy on Saturday, Nov. 15. Game time is yet to be determined for that contest.
