BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - UAB senior forward Lawrence Kinnard was tabbed the Conference USA Player of the Week, as voted on by the media from around the conference.

Kinnard earns his second career weekly conference award after leading UAB to an 87-66 season-opening victory at Troy last Saturday.

In the contest, Kinnard scored 22 points, 15 of which came in the second half, and grabbed a game-high 13 rebounds en route to the win. Kinnard played just 29 minutes in the contest and connected on 9-of-16 shots from the floor and 4-of-8 from beyond the arc.

Kinnard and the UAB men's basketball team is I nTucson, Ariz., preparing for Monday night's NIT Tipoff opening contest when the Blazers take on Santa Clara at 7 p.m. CT (6 p.m. MT). The contest can be heard live on WUHT 107.7 FM.
