BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - The UAB football team invites its fans to kick off the 2008 season by hosting the second annual "Breakfast with the Blazers" Fan Day on Saturday, Aug. 23 at Bartow Arena. UAB head coach Neil Callaway, along with the coaching staff and players, will serve breakfast, sign posters and mingle with the Blazer faithful.

The annual event will begin with the UAB coaching staff serving breakfast from 9-10 a.m. in the Bartow Arena concourse. Blazer fans will have a chance to meet the UAB football team and coaches during an autograph session from 10-11 a.m. The event will also have inflatable games for Blazer fans of all ages.

"It's a good thing for our football team," Callaway said. "I hope its a good gesture to build our fan base. Its something we desperately need to do here at UAB to get a bigger fan base. It's beneficial for everybody. We will be there looking forward to it and hopefully there will be a big turnout."
