UAB Works Hard To Ready For Marshall Game Saturday
Oct. 14, 2008
BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - The UAB football team practiced for close to two hours in full pads Tuesday in preparation for its upcoming game versus Marshall on Saturday. The contest, scheduled for a 3 p.m. CT kickoff at Legion Field, will also serve as UAB's 2008 Homecoming game. UAB head coach Neil Callaway was pleased with the efforts his team put forth during the entire practice, which was mostly spent on the game plan for the Thundering Herd. "We had a good practice today," said Callaway. "I thought we worked hard all practice. We just have to continue to work on Marshall and get the kinks worked out on what they do." Callaway feels that his team has practiced well throughout the season and is hoping that the effort and productivity that he has seen on the practice field will transfer to Legion Field on Saturday. "Tuesday is the day that we always compete in practice," said Callaway. "Looking back, we haven't always been perfect, but we've practiced pretty good all year. We just have to carry that over to game day. "We have to finish the games and do all the little things that we need to do to be successful. We've worked hard. We have to stay focused and concentrate on what we have to do." Saturday's game will be carried on the Blazers ISP Sports Network. It can be heard locally on WWMM 100.5 FM radio in Birmingham.
