Jeff Kaufman is in his fifth season as the volunteer assistant coach at UAB. Kaufman is the son of UAB head coach Alan Kaufman, and has many years of experience in collegiate golf.

Kaufman was a four-year letterwinner and a standout on the LSU golf team from 1980-84. Prior to his collegiate playing days, Kaufman was considered as one of the top high school players in the nation. During the 1979 season, Kaufman was finalist at the United States Golf Association (USGA) junior championships, earning a spot in the round of 32. He also earned national recognition during the 1980 campaign, when he was tabbed to the National High School All-American team and the American Junior Golf Association All-American team following the 1980 campaign.

Along with his coaching duties, Kaufman is the president of Kaufman Retail Services in Birmingham, Ala. He is married to Pam Kaufman, who also has quite the golfing background as a former head coach of the UAB and LSU women's golf teams. The couple have two boys, Smylie, 16 and Luckie, 14, both of whom are active in the junior ranks.
