UAB Tied For 11th After Day Two Of Bank Of Tennessee Intercollegiate At The Ridges

JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. - The No. 17 UAB men's golf team maintained its 11th place spot during the second round of the 10th annual Bank of Tennessee Intercollegiate at The Ridges, hosted by East Tennessee State. The Blazers shot a 285 on day two to continue to be tied for 11th with North Carolina State with a total of 579. UAB is just seven strokes behind first-place Wake Forest heading into the final round on Sunday. The Blazers' top performer through two rounds has been sophomore Adam West, who sits in a tie for 11th place, shooting rounds of 71 and 70, respectively, to tally a three-under 141. Junior Brad Smith is tied for 21st with a one-under par 143. Senior Kyle Sapp shot rounds of 75 and 73 to tie for 54th with a 148. Sophomore Cathal O'Malley and junior Zach Sucher are tied for the 66th spot with identical scores of 150. Wake Forest is holding the top spot after two rounds with a 12-under par 564. East Tennessee State is just one stroke behind the Demon Deacons at 565, followed by Virginia Tech in third with a nine-under 567. The Blazers will conclude their play at the Bank of Tennessee at the Ridges will the third and final round on Sunday. Live scoring for the event is available on Golfstat.com.
