Sucher In 13th After Two Rounds At All-America Golf Classic

EL PASO, Texas -- UAB men's golfer Zach Sucher is tied for 13th overall after two rounds of play at the Western Refining College All-America Golf Classic. The two-day, 54-hole tournament is being played at the par 71, 6,837-yard El Paso Golf Country Club.

The tournament is invitation only, pitting the 28 returning All-American golfers from the 2006-07 season. An honorable mention All-American last year, Sucher struggled through the opening 18 holes with a 73. However, the Mobile, Ala. native cut six strokes off his opening round score of play with a with a four-under par 67 to close the day with a two-under 140.

Each university that has a player participating in the tournament will receive a $1,000 scholarship.

The final round of the tournament will be played tomorrow morning, Nov. 20.
