UAB-Memphis Men's Soccer Game Time Moved To 2 p.m.
Oct. 30, 2007
BIRMINGHAM, Ala. ----- The start time for Saturday's UAB men's soccer game against Memphis has been moved to 2 p.m. in order to accommodate the Blazers' football game vs. Southern Miss at Legion Field, which begins at 6 p.m. The soccer game on Saturday will be senior day and mark the final regular season home game for the men's soccer team. The lone senior on this year's team, defender Joe Klosterman, will be honored during the contest. "This is a crucial game to decide whether we make the conference tournament," UAB head coach Mike Getman said. "We would like to have a large crowd to give us a home field advantage. With the football game at 6 p.m., it was in our best interest to move our game time up to 2 p.m. in order to accommodate all UAB fans." If the Blazers defeat the Tigers on Saturday, then they will clinch a berth to the 2007 Conference USA Championship, hosted by UAB at West Campus Field. However, if UAB loses, it will need some help to ensure a spot in the event. In addition to the time change, any UAB students who present a valid student ID at the gate will receive free entrance and free food.
