AUBURN, Ala. --- The UAB men's tennis team was defeated by Auburn, 6-1, here Sunday afternoon, as the Tigers took the doubles point and five of six singles matches.

UAB's Kristijan Mitrovski recorded the Blazers' only point, as he was a 6-2, 7-5 winner over the Tigers' Rodrigo Minozzo in the No. 4 singles position.

UAB (10-5, 3-1) lost the doubles point, as Auburn won the No. 2 and No. 3 matches. At the No. 1 spot, UAB's Tobi Klein and Andre Maier beat the Tigers' Zoltan Pelva and Alex Schweizer, 8-1. In the No. 2 match, the Blazers' Anton Mavrin and Mitrovski fell to Auburn's Robert Lathouwers and Minozzo, 8-6. The Tigers won the doubles point with a win in the No. 3 tilt as the Auburn's Brett Hunter and Nick Lane defeated UAB's Dino Mancarella and Sanzaruz Zaman, 8-6.

Auburn (5-6, 0-2) continued to dominate in singles, as they won five of six matches. At the No. 1 position, the Tigers' Pelva was a 6-3, 7-6 winner of UAB's Klein. In the No. 2 spot, Auburn's Schweizer defeated the Blazers' Mavrin, 4-6, 6-4, 6-0. The Tigers' Lathouwers was a 6-1, 6-1 winner over UAB's Maier in the No. 3 match. In the No. 5 tilt, Auburn's Lane beat the Blazers' Zaman, 6-3, 6-4. At the No. 6 position, the Tigers' Hunter was a 6-1, 6-7, 7-6 winner over UAB's Mancarella.

UAB will host Samford on Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Brook Highland Racquet Club.
