TUSCALOOSA, Ala. ----- UAB's Dan Cornei and Thomas Petrich came up short in their bid to win a double title as the Blazer tandem fell in their semifinal match Sunday at the Crimson Tide Fall Invitational.

Cornei and Petrich, who competed in the White Doubles Division, lost to the Jacksonville team of Matthew Rock and Victor Vaz, 8-2.

UAB's only competitor Sunday was sophomore Tyrone Ewels who retired due to injury in the consolation final of his division. Alain Garrido of Georgia Southern claimed the title.
