BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - The UAB women's basketball team will host Team Alabama in an exhibition game Sunday at 2:00 p.m. CT in Bartow Arena. The Blazers return to the hardwood after a 10-day layoff for the holiday season.

UAB is holding a 4-8 overall record after most recently falling to Florida State, 66-52, on Dec. 20. The Blazers earned early wins over Illinois and Lipscomb this year, and also captured their fifth consecutive Blazer Invitational title by topping Delaware State and St. John's on Dec. 17-18.

The Blazers are paced by senior guard/forward Diamond Rogers with 17.8 ppg, which also ranks second in Conference USA. In addition, Rogers also leads UAB in rebounds and assists with 7.7 rpg and 3.7 apg. Those numbers put her ninth in the league in rebounds and eighth in assists.

Senior guard Crystal McFadden, who just picked up her second C-USA Player of the Week honor on the season last Monday, is also getting it done for the Blazers with 12.8 points and 5.1 boards per game. McFadden also is posting a team-best shooting percentage of .418 by sinking 56-of-134 shots from the field this season.

Team Alabama is a group of former collegiate players that will challenge UAB. The squad consists of seven former University of Alabama players and one each from UAB, UAH, Alabama State and Talladega College.

Team Alabama's UAB connection is 6-foot-2 forward Regiena Brown, who was No. 30 for the Blazers from 1996-99.

Fans can receive free admission to Sunday's women's basketball game by presenting their UAB men's basketball ticket stub from Saturday's contest vs. Old Dominion.
