Gushanas Finishes Tied For Ninth; Women's Golf Finishes Twelfth

Christina Gushanas of the UAB women's golf team shot a final round 77 (79-77/156) to finish the Edwin Watts/Carolinas Classic tied for ninth spot. Gushanas was just nine strokes off the pace of winner Meaghan Francella (75-72/147) of Memphis who finished with a three stroke lead over Stephanie George (78-72/150) of Radford. Campbell ran away with the tournament shooting a 628, eight strokes ahead of second place finisher and host, College of Charleston (636). UAB shot rounds of 333 and 325 to finish the tournament at 658 alone in twelfth place. Also in the top-twenty for the Blazers was freshman Emily Hendricks , shooting rounds of 80 and 77 to finish in sole possession of 14th spot with a 157. The Blazers will compete again on Mar. 5-6 at the Tulane Green Wave Classic.
