UAB Women's Golf In 12th Place At Samford Intercollegiate

ONEONTA, Ala. - The UAB women's golf team tallied a two-round score of 633 Monday to sit in 12th place after day one of the Samford Women's Intercollegiate at Limestone Springs Golf Club. Junior Christina Wentworth was the Blazers' top performer, carding a 155 to put her in a tie for 26th place entering Tuesday's third and final round of competition. Tulsa is pacing the 15-team tournament with a day-one total of 581. Illinois is in second place at 598 and Murray State is third with a score of 599. Sophomore Carolyn Cochran and freshman Lindsay Taylor finished just one stroke back of Wentworth and are tied for 35th in the individual standings with identical scores of 156. Freshman Jaime Brabb shot 166 to put her in 63rd place and junior Alyson Mitchell recorded a score of 171 to put her in the 75th position. The Blazers will conclude their play at the Samford Intercollegiate on Tuesday. The final 18 holes will have a shotgun start at 8:30 a.m.
