Women's Golf Tied For Sixth After Day One Of Cincinnati Spring Invitational

CRYSTAL RIVER, Fla. - The UAB women's golf team is tied with Yale for sixth place after day one of competition at the Cincinnati Spring Invitational, shooting a first-round total of 326 at the Plantation Inn Golf Course in Crystal River, Fla.

Middle Tennessee State is leading the tournament, carding a score of 325 on Friday. Princeton is standing in second place with a total of 310, and Florida Atlantic rounds out the top three with a score of 311.

Freshman Carolyn Cochran was UAB's top performer on day one, shooting a 77 to tie for seventh place in the individual standings. Senior Jennifer Head and sophomore Christina Wentworth are tied for the 31st spot with first-round scores of 82.

Sophomore Alyson Mitchell and senior Lois Jones both carded scores of 85 to tie for 41st place and round out the Blazers' effort on day one.

UAB will conclude the Cincinnati Spring Invitational on Saturday with the final 18 holes at the Plantation Inn Golf Course.
