UAB Women's Golf In Third Through Two Rounds Of Lady Eagle Classic

HATTIESBURG, Miss. - The UAB women's golf team sits in third place out of eight teams after day one of the Lady Eagle Classic, hosted by Southern Miss at Canebrake Country Club. The Blazers shot a two-round total of 596, just six strokes off first-place West Florida (590). Middle Tennessee State is just one stroke in front of the Blazers (595) in second place. Freshman Carolyn Cochran shot a one-under 71 in round one, followed by a second-round score of 75 to tie for third place at 146 in the individual standings with one round remaining. Sophomore Alyson Mitchell carded scores of 78 and 70, respectively, to tie for sixth place with a combined score of 148. Senior Jennifer Head completed day one just one shot behind Mitchell with a score of 149. Senior Martha Hudson is tied for the 20th position at 153 and sophomore Christina Wentworth is in 26th place with a two-round total of 158. UAB will conclude the Lady Eagle Classic on Tuesday with the final 18 holes of play, which will begin at 8 a.m.
