Women's Golf Finishes Third At Towson Invitational

ST. MICHAEL'S, Md. - The UAB women's golf team concluded its first tournament of the 2008 fall season by placing third at the Towson Invitational Tuesday. The Blazers shot rounds of 314 and 315 for a 36-hole score of 629. Longwood took home the tournament title with a winning score of 614. Richmond finished second by shooting a low round of 305 on Tuesday and ending the two-day event at 626. Senior Christina Wentworth was the Blazers' top performer and placed fourth in the individual standings with an overall score of 149. Sophomore Jaime Brabb tied for the sixth place after tallying rounds of 80 and 75 to finish at 155. Sophomore Lindsay Taylor took home ninth place at 159, followed by senior Alyson Mitchell tied for 24th at 166. Sophomore Ashley Looney rounded out UAB's efforts by placing 38th with a score of 191. UAB will return to action on Oct. 6-7 at the USF/Waterlefe Invitational in Bradenton, Fla.
