Women's Golf Signs Two for Next Season
Nov. 28, 2006 BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - The UAB women's golf team and head coach Kim Wilcox have added a pair to the roster for the 2007-08 season. Lindsay Taylor and Emi Boozer have both signed national letters of intent to compete for the Blazers next year, announced Wilcox. Taylor is currently a senior at Soddy Daisy High School in Soddy Daisy, Tenn. Playing her prep career for coach Jon George, she tied for ninth in the Class AAA state tournament during this past year. Taylor has earned multiple accolades during her career, including claiming the individual title in the last two Region 3 tournaments and winning three consecutive District 6 championships. "Lindsay is physically very strong," said Wilcox. "She is a good player and is very competitive. We expect her to come in and do good things for us." Boozer hails from Jacksonville, Ala. and has spent her high school career playing for Pleasant Valley High School. She took up the game of golf in the seventh-grade, continuously improving her play over the years and winning the Calhoun County High School Golf Tournament two consecutive years. "Emi is another strong player that we have added," said Wilcox. "She has a lot of tournament experience, which is really good. She is tournament-ready, and that is a large part of recruiting a player."
