HOUSTON - Houston scored a pair of goals in the first 15 minutes to record a 2-1 Conference USA women's soccer victory over UAB here Friday night.

Ashley Fortenberry scored the game's first goal at the 10:40 mark and then added an assist on the other goal by Kara Bullinger at 14:33 to lift the Cougars (8-8-1 overall, 3-12-2 in C-USA) to the win.

The Blazers (3-12-2, 2-7-1) got its only goal just prior to halftime as Jennifer Calalang (Orlando, Fla.) notched her first career goal for UAB and Adrienne Suffridge (Columbia, S.C.) recorded the assist at the 40:14 mark.

Jessica Samulski (Columbia, S.C.) led the Blazers with four shots.

UAB completes the two-match road swing Sunday when they take on Saint Louis in a 1 p.m. match.
